Well, to answer that, it is because Paul's version is made MUCH better and is a better design. He makes them himself by hand and not in China like LMC's are, and lastly, because it supports a fellow member who is trying to supplement his income by making parts for a truck we all love.

Better design? It's the same design as mine, did he make his own relays? I think not, they were probably made from the same place as mine. I don't mined helping someone out, but I installed the LMC kit for $29.95 and it works awesome !!!

To add a little perspective here I'd like to share my own experience of this week. In another thread I had posted my hunt for a steering column for a newly made friend at the machine shop doing my block and kingpins. Last weekend I spent 4 hours with him on a customer's '68 who wanted to convert to power steering. He came to the conclusion that he'd rather replace it with the right column rather than modify the existing column. So I spent the next 4 days trying to locate one. Finally found one on Wed and have tried to get in touch with him all week. Multiple phone calls and messages both to him and his shop yielded no response. I was beginning to feel a little rejected and ignored. Today I got in touch with somebody at the shop who told me that the guy's girlfriend had a heart attack and had been rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery where they have been since early this week. I feel like a jerk for the thoughts I've been having.

Before passing judgment on someone you should be conscious that sometimes life interrupts us and we have to put aside our feelings and the things we want to do and do the things that MUST be done for our friends and family. Let's all pray that Paul and his family are well and rest assured that he will be in touch when he is able.

Not trying to continue or hash this cost debate but, let's break that down. LMC charges $29.95 + sales tax + 10.75 shipping for a total of $42.80 (assuming 7% sales tax). Now maybe it's just me but comparing the two pics of the LMC harness and Paul's pic of the motorcycle harness, Paul's looks cleaner and neater. Add the fact that the wiring colors will match and you know it'll work because he's a bump owner too and has one on his truck. Also I'm sure if there is a problem with it you will get excellent service and a liberal return/exchange policy while you will probably have to pay additional shipping costs to LMC and wait for the disposition of the return. Paul is also donating 10% of each to this site so we can all benefit but the vast store of knowledge and comraderie. Just me but cost is secondary to quality, reputation and service. As always, just my :2cents: :D

Yeah, 390nut has always made good on every purchase I have made from him (3 so far in the past). For him not to be around is not normal so i really wonder what may have happened. I would think he would have at least popped online to give an update. No contact is not like him at all...

About 2 weeks ago, in a post above, Thunderfoot mentioned that he would try to contact Paul. No news yet. Is no news good news? Probably not. Keep your fingers crossed and hope that he has all the support he may need. The days are still long. Not having the harness now, is no big deal.

I sent an email through the site here (as I don't have any other contact info for him) with my email and such and I never heard anything back... So I'm starting to wonder a bit myself if he is ok or not...

Bad News guys and Gals..... i called the fife police dept this morning to see if they could contact Paul to see if he is OK.

Turns out he IS ok...he told the police he is no longer using this forum.... it seems to me he took our money and left us with no product.

the nice lady on the phone told me if you want to make a complaint to your local PD they will contact the fife PD and they will look into any charges we may file against him

NOW I DONT FEEL SO BAD ABOUT BEING PISSED THE LAST WEEK OR SO... :x
