WTB 1968 grille/brush guard

Post by Ohiotinkerer »

Looking to buy a grille/brush guard for my 68 F100 - something that would have been sold for that era truck. Borrowed another members photo as an example.....

prefer something close to my location but if it can be shipped I would be interested!

It's probably not period enough, but I scored this off a dent. The profile on the brackets is almost the same as my bumper (close enough that nobody has ever noticed it's for a different model). It took a few hours with a drill and grinder to get it to fit underneath where it bolts to the frame rail, and a couple of washers under the top bracket to fill the small gap between the bracket and bumper. It's a lot smaller and doesn't extend out to the sides like the one in your pic, but I just wanted to let you know that if you find something you like on a dentside, it'll probably fit with a little tweaking.

Thanks for the info and the photo but got my heart set on the other style - trying to keep with the old farm truck look and remember when I was a kid a lot of the farm trucks had those or the chrome tube style....both of which I am finding out are getting scarce....but that hasn't stopped me from looking........ :D

Will do! I've got a bed full of stuff tucked under the tonno cover I'm waiting to do......but no garage so its gonna be March or April before I get to it. I did hold it up to get a look at it against the front of the truck and really can't wait to get it on - between that and my new wheels and tires should give it the look I'm going for! :woohoo:
