Where can I find NOS or OEM or US made?

Post by mkitchen »

I need to replace the original turn signal switch and would like to find one that is US made. I am not totally against overseas parts but I think the US made parts will hold up better.

If the stuff from the big names isin't USA made, I don't think you'll be able to find any.

Try Dennis Carpenter, Mac's, Blue Oval, & Obsolete Ford. Also, if you still have an "old" Ford dealership near you, you might hit them up. Our local mom & pop Ford dealer stocked alot of parts for my truck untill they were bought out by a big chain dealership :(

I would look for new vs. NOS. I put a NOS turn signal switch in my truck last year & it lasted about 3 blocks. 40 year old plastic sucks.

Good day MKitchen,

I second what PapaBug is saying about NOS turn signal switches.

Yet I remember reading something from 70_F100 about an after-market switch that worked beautifully in his truck. And based on looking at their Web site, my best guess is that their stuff's USA-made. Of course you'd want to call to find out for sure.

Here's the post from 70_F100: Right blinker blows fuses

There's a link here somewhere that had been posted that searches the dealers for obsolete OEM ford parts. Maybe somebody can come along soon and repost it?

Thanks for the replys. I should be able to find a good switch from sources provided. Every time I do something to Rueben, my 71, I get excited and want to do more. I just took some shots of the engine and exhaust and will get them posted. Not wanting to redirect the post but does anyone know about Grant steering wheels? I am looking at a 15" to replace my original wheel. It is manual steering, which I am ok with, but I want a wheel that is comparable in size to what I have but thicker.
Again, thanks
