Dennis Carpenter

Post by Mister_King »

Purchased some rear window rubber from Dennis Carpenter. I heard many horrible reviews about LMC rubber products, and many people recommended Dennis Carpenter. Price was fairly decent. Roughly what I would expect to pay for a good quality rubber. Shipping was a bit slow. I ordered a gasket kit for an FE engine from a different company at the same time of ordering this rubber. The gasket kit was at my door in 4 days, the rubber took about another 7. The quality of the rubber is absolutely great. (Obviously the real test is the test of time.) The rubber is not cut and it is already a perfect fit for the window so you do not need to have a cut in the rubber, it is one solid piece. Other than the shipping, I was very pleased with dealing with Dennis Carpenter.

Lucky you! I work in manufacturing precision sheet metal fabrication and assembly, and have been in fabrication since 1979. That would be my dream tour!

Did your weatherstripping say where it was made? I'm just curious.

They have tours of the factory the weekend of the autofair at the speedway. I try to go every year now. Great way to get ready for spring after being in winter hibernation. The auto fair is April 9-12. Come on up I need a walking partner  But bring some comfortable shoes though.

I have to say after buying a lot of supplies from Dennis carpenter I am often disappointed when I open the package and find "made in China" ok it. I bought a dimer switch and it was made there. I can buy one at the local napa for less than the 11.00 d.c. price.

Agree, I bought some door check springs from them (thru a 3rd party vendor) and they weren't even close... $4 each and made in China.
They were the same as the springs I could find at the local hardware store only they cost twice as much.
