Will I be excommunicated?

Post by Bronco_77 »

My truck was originally 2 tone skyveiw blue and wimbolton white but my grand paw had it repainted in the early 80's to a solid blue color nobody knows what is. The closest thing I can find is marina blue I know it's a Chevy color but I think it would look killer on the truck and don't really care bout it been original just want something close to what I remember it been when he had it. Am I good to catch crap from every die hard ford guy I meet.

You can do what you want but I do think the two tone blue and white was one of the prettiest color combos out there. I'd at least consider doing the cab roof in white if the chrome trim is still on it.

Wow I appreciate all the support I can't believe nobody is going to flip out. I wish I could find a picture of one that color but I think it's what I'm looking for.

Now if you put a Chebby engine in it you might get some flack.. But I have and old El Camino with a Buick 401 in it so we could just call it even. :D

Unless you're going for complete original restoration, who cares? Even then, you could say it was a 'dealer option'!! Who would know?

Pick the paint that you like. I built a Factory Five Cobra and painted it Toyota Tacoma blue, actually called Speedway Blue. It was the perfect paint, for me.

This is tpdaniels truck which sounds like the color scheme your describing. Ranchero is right about this being the prettiest color scheme. I hope he doesn't get mad at me for posting his truck but he did an amazing job and as soon as I seen it I saved it in my phone.

That truck does look great! I'm starting to repaint using Ford blue instead of the lighter blue with the Wimbledon White. We'll see how it turns out. I already painted the steering wheel/column, door panels and heater vents on the dash, all Ford blue. It looks killer against the white. I'll post some pics one day.

I really like the 2 tone but It just ain't how I remember the truck. I think I'm going with the marina blue.

Yes I am with the majority.
Any color you want, it is yours.
Been on here a tad over 7 years and only had one person complain about some little thing I did to my 68. I just figure when you hear any negitive on what you do to your truck just consider the source and let it roll off. lol
Enjoy that Ford and Keep on trucking...........John :drive:
