hello again. i got my parts in the day after i posted the vids but i haven't had time to get on here and update. I ordered a new accelerator cable from Lokar and a bracket that mounts on the corner stud of the carb base to clean up my hack job of a linkage. it worked but it was touchy. I could have gotten away with a 3 footer but i went the safe route and bought 4. I have to say that as far as i can tell, Lokar knows their crap. defiantly worth the money. I also ordered exhaust pipes to fix the mess of a cross over that i was sold. they INSISTED that 2.5 inch pipe would not fit and they had to use 2 inch. well after using their crap bender in conjunction with the 2 inch pipe and sharp 90's i was left with maybe 1.5 inch pipe. so i ordered a mandrel bend U and a 45 along with a 4" piece of straight pipe and made my own. granted i had to take the transmission cross over to get it in, but i got it in. i couldn't have been happier. now she sounds the same on both sides and has a nice roll to the sound under acceleration. Watched your vids. Truck looks good and sounds good. The exhaust sounds pretty good! What did you say you have in it for a rear differential?

As for me, Im still finishing up my Offenhauser intake with a Motorcraft 2 bbl. Im making a plate for the bottom of it so I can run hot water through it for the heat. Ive got the C4 automatic which I have no complaints. Would like to do a good exhaust like you have done.

The rear end in a 9 inch with somewhere in the neighborhood of a 3.00:1 gear set. Haven't really looks up the diff tag. The stock one was 3.73 but that would never make it on the freeway at 20 mpg. as far as the intake heater, i was talking to my dad about doing the exact same thing hear lately. i was looking at the intake and trying to figure out a better way than running a heated spacer and thought "why the hell not use the same place ford used?"

i'll try to get some pictures or some video of the cross over and what not to give you an idea of how it's run. i have a set of hedman headers ( i wouldn't buy another set!) so i had to run mine a little different than the EFI manifolds would. The mufflers are a welded series by thrush and they have a pretty good tone especially since the new crossover. Not too loud at idle and it gets progressively louder the more you give it the beans.

Wow. 3.00 gearing is about as low as Ive heard of in a bumpside truck. Any noticeable torque issues, or dont you have many hills where you live?
As for the heating for the offenhauser intake, Im going with what most people are doing and thats radiator water plumbed through that box on the underside. Im making a plate like so

with the two spigots to clamp the hot water hose to. In and out on the way to the heater core. It supposedly provides warm water in about a minute or so to the floor of the intake plenum. Here's another view of how one guy did it. Im using this design:

Im right now making two of the plates out of aluminum.

Yeah Id like to see pics of your exhaust. Ive got EFI manifolds with a Y pipe (2 1/2") going into a Dynomax turbo muffler. Its OK. I paid a guy to make me a tailpipe for it but it was so crappy with crappy bends that the restriction was too much. I pulled it off and now I have nothing after my muffler.

I drive up the Saluda grade regularly which is a 6% grade i think and i can accelerate up hill in 3rd (1:1) from 65 to 75 pretty easily. there are also a lot of hilly area's on back roads, just not the one i was on in the video.  I want to geta a tremec T5 so i can split my gears and run 3.50:1 or 3.25:1 rear gears and use over drive for some sweet mpg's.

It's a dealer tag. it's from dale whichman ford. judging from the vin code i would say they are from the original dealer.

Just a quick update. i made another video and i'll post it in the next couple days. for now i'll post some pics of my 3g alt upgrade. I ended up finding one for $25 off of a early 90's taurus so i snagged it. It required some clearancing on the bracket to clear part of the case and you have to use a through bolt on the small mounting tab because they aren't threaded like the stock alt. The pulley also needs trimmed to clear the case.







an eighth of an inch is needed to be removed from the back of the pulley but not the shaft to clear the case. the serpentine belt pulley sticks out further than the v-belt. This was my first non recreational use of our metal lathe.

well, looks like i'm gonna be doing some paint and body work sooner than later. Had a friend cave in my passenger side fender tonight. i'll keep you guys updated.

here's the pics. on top of that happening my brakes pretty much crapped out today. the passenger side dram drum was well over 300 degrees after a 4 mile trip and the other side was ice cold. went to have the drums turned and they were already 10-30 over. i have another set of front drums that may be turnable but i don't know if i want to even mess with drums anymore.

Upset me so much about the fender I couldn't comment yesterday. If you want a straight rust free original fender I have some located in NV. Not sure what shipping would run but I paid $40 each for mine from Riff.
