Since the rattle can chrome didn't look very good, I decided to go with glossy black on the gauge panel. Before the final coating I figured I better mock up the switches, lights and gauges to make sure everything fits. Of course, to make sure this stuff fits, I actually had to buy some :D Went ahead and bought the tach, fuel pressure gauge, LED billet button switch (for fog lights and whatever), indicator light switch (for brake warning light) and mini LED's for turn signal indicators.

As I test fitted the tach, I realized I'd need back up rings like I needed the spacer rings on the front. I whipped some out of some thin sheet metal with my aviation snips. Since they're on the back side, appearance was not much of a concern. Had to ream out the holes for the lights and switch with my dremel and a grinding stone. Then I installed the other components. Everything fit pretty good.

After scratching my head awhile about how to mount the turn signal indicators, I scrounged up some scrap aluminum and fabbed up a bracket I think will work.

Now I can finish painting the bezel, rings and brackets and the gauge panel will be ready for the rest of the gauges and switches...when I can afford 'em!

Looks nice I still have a painted version sitting around. The turn signals windows the arrows originally have a geen tranlucent plastic( probably could use those binder tabs) that looks like it was scotched tape to the panel. Then there are these cardboard tubes to direct the light to them. The tubes in a stock panel work with a little mod. I misplaced my f600 tubes at time of assembly and used ones out of a f100 panel of course once in the truck they were found.

Thanks for the lens idea, 48prerunner! I was just thinking about what I was going to use yesterday. That'll be quick and easy. And I didn't even remember about the tubes, it's been so long since I took it apart. Guess I'm not quite finished with it yet!
