Wow! It's been 2 years since I posted in my build thread. Oh, the shame!
I got absolutely NOTHING done on Frodo last year, and about all I've gotten done this year is to move him around the driveway a couple of times. I put him up for sale, but no interest, so....... he's staying! :D
I have been working on the passenger door. I got it painted to match the drivers side, and am putting all new weatherstripping in, as well as power windows and door locks/remote unlock.
I got the vent window redone, new door channel and division bar weatherstripping in, and ordered a new door window seal for the outside of the door. I don't recall why, but I put the outer door seal and had to remove it. If you have ever removed one of these, you know that the clips will not survive! One of the upgrades being done here is to put '71-72 door window seals (sometimes referred to as "fuzzies") on because the outers have a rubber scraper lip on them as compared to the '67-70's which have felt fuzzies on both inner and outer seals.
I got the window in place (easier to do without the fuzzies installed) and when I went to install the outer, NOTHING lined up right! :? :cuss:
I went to Rock Auto and logged into my account. I had ordered the outer for a '75 instead of a '72!!
   :x :x :x       :pout: :pout: :pout:
So now this is on hold until I can get a new outer. It's not worth sending it back, and the last time I tried to remove the clips from one of these, let's just say it didn't go that well.......

Looking forward to seeing progress pics of the window seal/weatherstripping install. I need to do this on my 72 and I am sure the pictures will help me out.

How's Frodo been lately? I enjoy reading your walk throughs. I like how you make it a tutorial. Good work!

I guess I never relayed the news: Frodo is no longer with me. Too many other commitments and just not enough time to do what needed to be done. I do miss him, though. But, ya gotta do what ya gotta do. :(

Yeah I totally understand. Our "toys" usually become last priority in life. Sorry to hear however.

:yt: Very true - I hope you can pick another bump up at some point and are motivated to do another build. You obviously have talent and a vision.

I enjoyed your thread and will probably refer to it again at some point
