popeyes71 wrote:The old saggy spring problem  Yeah, mine were shot too, due to my truck living a hard work life! I had about a inch of clearance from the bottom of the bump stop to the top of the spring in the front. I ordered a set of springs from Alcan Spring in Colorado. The rear springs I had made to stock height specs and then had the front springs custom made so the truck sits level. Great company and the springs work great!

Got some measurements like center of the hub to fender lip?? Have the hardest time such as Lone ranger finding what these thing set like. Also when I see one I like nobody knows how its set up. Oh that's stock (With 40's) or 6 inches of lift (with 31's) Frustrating... :cuss:
I know exactly how you feel because I went through the same thing myself. I will get some measurements over the weekend and let you guys know.

Awesome! I've been asking everywhere about lift and tire sizes. Your truck looks great Popeyes!

Well it's been way to long since I worked on the truck and I should be able to get some things done this winter on it. Lately it's been slow to start and the other day it just clicked. Crossed the starter solenoid and it still just clicked so...out with the old-

And in with the new-

Also switched out my digital mega fuse with a new one- the old one got water in it and always read zero, even with the key pulled. I gooped up the new one with RTV so she should stay dry now.
Image
New one on it- it read 14.8 with all lights off and running, and right around 12 with just accessorie on. I'd recommend using one of these if you have done the 3G swap. It cost me less than 20 bucks and it's super handy.

Not much, but felt good to work on it again.

Awesome that's encouraging thanks! I do like the straight six- it runs smooth as a sewing machine but just doesn't sound aggressive. Not as much fun reving it up at a red light as my old truck. I do want a bigger tire but they gotta stay narrow  I'm starting to get some blow by and it's sucking it back through the air cleaner- I'm gonna try just dumping over board. Hopefully I don't need vacuum to do that. I kinda don't want to do a rebuild but we'll see if it gets worse or not.

Thanks Kyle! Sorry for the delay on the measurements; we had a family emergency. The measurements I took are from the center of the axle to the bottom of the wheel well opening. The front is 25 3/8" and the rear is 24". My truck sits fairly level but that was what I was going for. The tires on the truck currently are 265/75/16. After taking measurements, I was thinking that I was going to step up to a 34" tire. It should still give me a little clearance to still do some off-roading.

I got it off eBay. I think it's scorpion brand. It has a ground wire( which I wired to one of the mounting screws I used) and an external power wire( hooked it to the starter solenoid- otherwise it won't turn off)
