Thanks 67man I did get really lucky that I didn't get paint in my face and that the can shrapnel didn't hit me. It hurts but I'm mostly irritated that I made such a dumb mistake and that I'm out of commission a good while.

Wow that makes me think twice about an old trick I used of heating rattle cans in hot water so they would spray with better atomization. Hmm

That is a nice patch you are making. Sorry to hear about the burns. Do not jump back in before you heal up. You don't want to get an infection on top of the burns man. All the best in a speedy recovery.

I really appreciate the kind words everyone. Lesson for me is just to slow down and take my time.
On a lighter note I got this big box from LMC and I couldn't figure out what it could be... A replacement engine... A new truck cab... Must be something big...

Nope it's a dash lense at the bottom underneath a ton of air pillows. I think I found out why their shipping is so high

Sorry to hear about your shop accident! Glad to hear you are relatively okay and on the mend.

Looks like you were making good progress with your patch panels!

Thanks Steve! Yeah I was making good progress wanted it done by tomorrow but now I have to find the patch panels in the garage... Things kind of got moved around a bit  The can that exploded out of my hand hit the ceiling so hard it flattened out and chunks of the wood ceiling are stuck in the can.
I'm excited to get back at it tho you can only sit on the couch for so long till you go crazy. Doc at the burn clinic thinks next week I should be good. I think I've read every build on this site already :D

Well I've sat around for as long as I can stand so I decided to work on my gauge cluster. It started out pretty nasty.

I painted up my gauge needles with some cheap orange fingernail polish. LMC wanted a stupid amount of money for their gauge needle paint. As a side note if anyone else is cleaning the gauges be very careful around the white paint it smears and looks terrible. Put in a fresh lense and put it all back together. A great improvement for not much money.

I got the instrument needle paint from ebay for a buttload cheaper and free shipping, exact same stuff the catalogs sell. Same with LED lights for the dash. Being cheap and doing a lot of research pays off after awhile! :D

Hey where did you get your LED flashlights from? Might as well do that while it's all out.

Try this link. I verified they work in the old/original socket as the one that comes with them are kinda tight. Also verified they light up with 12V DC charger.

Hey Madman I checked out those bulbs and they are the wedge type socket. Mine are different however as being a twist in bulb. If I remember right mine are GE 1895 bulbs. Did you have to modify your bulb socket or are our clusters just different?
