New stuff is fun.

Might as well do a cam if you’re that far into it (a mild one).

Looking good man! Love that Holley your putting on there. You might want to paint your new brake master cylinder. The cast part rusts quick. Great progress dude!

thanks guys.
duckryder I don't know a lot about engines. I had to have the old man buddy from work help me out/give me enough confidence just to get the top end off and apart.
Im guessing a mild cam is meaning upgrade the shaft middle spin thing that spins the fan and rotates all the cylinders up and down... ? I could post a google pic but im pretty sure I know wat ur talking about.

new battery tray, steer coupler, top end complete fel pro gasket set and remy starter all showed up yesterday. :) New stuff is great. All I feel ive been doing lately on this build is buying new parts and compiling em.
Checked on the heads today. Notta. Notta thing done to em yet. Which is okay for now... Seems ill be getting a new set of c8 heads cuz he or his buddy has some sitting on a shelf that prob need less work than mine. LOL
Id prefer the ones that came with the motor just for fit and function but we will see how that turns out. Don't bother me either way.

Dropped off my intake today to get sand blasted. Not ideal but should work for me. Gonna paint it high temp ford blue!
Holly is awesome lone ranger. Ebay $200. new. GET ONE! lol.

Working me like a dog at work so sunday will be my next day off. Get to do my moms acura rotors that day. whooohhhhooooooo. lol.
keep at it guys. thanks for looking.

Camshaft is the item in the middle of the block that operated the valves not the crankshaft that carries the belt pulley. The camshaft is behind the water pump behind the timing cover. A improved cam hold the valves open longer and opens them more to increase the air and fuel in and the exhaust out to increase the power. Hopefully you get it all together soon that will be great to get it running for you again.

Today i got my intake back from sandblast. I hit it with blue high temp 2 coats and 2 coats.of clear laquer finish. Hope it stands up.
Got.my battery tray in place. Old.one.came.out in.2 pieces
:0
I got my new steering.coupler on and the bolt that tightens the collar.piece.around the steering box gear just strips out. I tried the old bolt and that stripped. Uhhhg.

Also.got my heater box.out all the way and blower.motor disconnected from it.

Tomorrow i.might try and finalize all the steering wheel and such mumbo jumbo and put the new starter on.
Also tomorrow i may get to the new tranny.pan, bolts, gasket, and shifter linkage hooked up.
Ill try and upload.some new pics.

Testing. 1....2....
Looks like this boat will stay a float. Ill grab a pic of all the stuff im talking about to get u all caught up.

This is the steering coupler im working with. Said on the box to have the main bolt at 32lbs torque spec and the two on the sides at 11lbs... well mine just stripped out. Maybe i wasnt supposed to take out all the way when i put it on? Does it even need it? The steering.coloum and.steer box kinda sandwhich it in. I.dont see it coming off unless.i role the truck!

I got some 3/8" header bolts but they look too small. I dont have my heads to see. Lol. It is 2min away buy ehhhh. I dont wanna rush anyone.

I need some metal work done in the cab before i wanna spray and clean all that up.

Looks good Dude! Gonna be sweet when you get it back together. Looks like your choke cable or throttle cable is sticking in one of your cylinders careful she don't scratch.
