I love new truck parts! Lol. Got my brake pedal pad in yesterday and was easy enough to install before the carb break down. Today this master cylinder came. Gotta bench bleed it and slap that in. Also im gonna wrap my headers and starter in some heat protection material.

Got a question there you said the rotor turned and popped up off the distributor shaft?? Have seen this before when the shaft wear. May be time for a dizzy?? Just curious if that timing issue is causing your starting issue. :?

:hmm: rebuilding carburetors is usually something that requires a nice clean area or am I missing something :? Just would hate to see ya go through all that work and find a pine needle where it ain't suppose to be
I've had enough and I'm not alone

Idk it could be vaccum leak. Starter. Timing. Air fuel mixture.
Yes a clean area helps. Lol. I ran out of time yesterday. I dipped the parts. Some for an hr or so and some for 30min. Scrub with a metal brush. Put em back in. Rinsed in a 5gal bucket with water. Parts are Layed out on a cleaner rubbermaid lid.
Im in the process of picking up my garage and driveway. Make a mess. Clean it up so i can make another.

The rebuild kit didnt come with a choke pull off diaghram which sucked cuz mine looked was damaged and had tears and rips and holes in it.

When i do finally assemble the carb...itll b in a cleaner manner or area ya...im just de greasing and soaking all the lil parts.

I love a Holley with a manual choke. Think I have a 560 on my 302 with manual choke. I never touch the choke, fires up on the first turn of the key

My main problem and core to my problems has been the broken header bolts. We took the heads off and you can see thr headers are off. I can take the heads in and get em cleaned, bolts taken out, and new valve spring seals?! I think it was... ?
Anyways. Ill need all new gaskets. Prob a new manifold and carb. And starter.
Till than. Clean and tidy up. Finish till i buy parts.

Hopefully when you get her all back together it runs great. Keep up the good work!
Those are some purdy carbs but they are not cheap. Maybe one day I'll get one too.

Looks good. You made the right choice pulling the heads off. bores and all look pretty good there. Keep her covered up and keep the trash outta it. How does your camshaft look?
