been just mostly getting lossends done this week. I have been chasing a lack of fuel on my secondary, i had to advance the timming a lot so it would stop pinging. this all started after the pin shear for the distributor gear, this was a few months ago. I started question the coil, so I decided to get a msd blaster ss. I decided to mount the coil on the firewall and used a extra wire i had. the issue was not fix so guess rebuilding the carb is next to find anything that would get closed or burned.

not sure what your asking about but here are some shots, they are before and after the slight drop I did. I also picked up some 275/60/15 for the rear, got them for $25 with good tread. probably going to order a pair of 15x9 slot mags to run them on.

I got a mandrel bent 1 7/8 90* aluminum pipe in finally today. I cut it to a smaller size and may cut it more later, I got it installed and will need to get more clamps. another I need to mention is you cant get a vented cap from the store, i pulled it apart some time ago to remove the spring and valve.

I dont think my caps vented. I can hear air come.out when i wiggle or lift a side...
Slight drop? That looks way better! Good deal on the tires as well.

I can appreciate your dedication. I would SERIOUSLY keep looking for a donor cab, or look back to see if that last one was free. A day rental with a UHaul may be able to get it home, but there are way too many of these trucks around to try and put too much energy into that cab. Keep that truck goin' though!!

Nice progress. Two biggest things to be on are Brakes and Steering. The rest will follow along.

I got a pair of rims in and mounted them today at work. a 9in wheel with a 4.5in backspacing sets them out nicely. will get the 7in ones some other time for front.

I would go look at this and salvage what you can from your truck.

yes I have been keeping a lookout for a cab but think I should focus making this a safe driver till I get my other truck running. having my other truck up and running will give me more time to do a cab swap, I would rather not rush it and not do painting. ranchero that is not a bad deal but I dont got that much to even get it.

I got around today to finding out what happened saturday. I all of a sudden got delayed engagement into 2nd and could not get the truck out of drive, out of frustration I broke the linkage in the column as well. took the pan off and found the intermediate band snapped that left parts laying around. now need to ether finish gathering parts for a wide ratio build or see if a 4:02 ratio t19 can be found. can I just get a break from this truck so can get back onto my other project truck. :cuss:

did not find any t19s or manual bumps parts in the yard/craigslist locally, did find some stuff on ebay after some digging. I have ordered a t19 out of a 86 f350 with a diesel that there would be a good chance of it being the 4.02 over the 5.11 ratio. I also found the clutch and brake pedals, they come with rods and z bar off a sbf. all I have found for a fe is the engine side bracket, need to find out about the z bar and find the frame bracket.

got the t19 in today and it is the 4.02 underdrive, so now have the main piece to the puzzle. I was digging through old posts and found useful information from when I did a t18 swap in the other 71 I had before. I used a midshaft out a 80's ford truck I6/T18 in that one and there is one in the yard, will go see if its still there this weekend.
