I ran extra speaker wires and power along with an antenna extension to where someone can install a modern stereo if they like in the ABS headliner.

Have you looked into switch back LEDs for the cargo lamp to make it a CHMSL? Not real effective during the day but it grabs folks attention at night. Pretty simple to wire in as well. Just need a 2nd power coming off of the brake switch (before the turn signals) to power the lamp. I did one in my build thread.

Jamie my truck didn't have a cargo light so that can't happen unless I cut one in. Not in the plan as of yet but will look at your build to see.

I got the ABS headliner in and it went in quit easy actually, better than I was expecting. What I found was to have the visor brackets on and then slide the liner up against them , I then folded the visors up so they held the liner while I got a stick to put from my seat to the liner at the back which kept it in the proper position. The screws that come with it are a bit long so watch it at the back, no holes in roof needed!
Now for the chrome trim, not so good! :? The outer speakers are back about 3/8" more than the inside ones which causes the back trim to not fit where it should. I went to the manufacture (Dashtop.com) and asked what they recommend, waiting to see what they say. My only options are to paint up some screws with black paint and not install the trim  or to move the trim almost off the back of the headliner to clear the outer speakers. If I install the trim then the headliner needs to have holes drilled in it where the trim screws will go through, no turning back at that stage. If that doesn't work I have messed up the liner. :nono:
I have painted up the screws and will go that route until I hear back from Dashtop or someone here that has the answer for me.

This thing is just beautiful no doubt and your attention to detail is fantastic!! What's your honest opinion on the headliner?? Keep it up!!

Thanks Manny, I think the headliner is okay for quality but I think they missed the issue with the speakers and the trim when they molded them. I have the chrome just beaming and not being able to use it kind of ticks me off because it would just finish the liner in my opinion.
Let's see if they respond and go from there. I have new visors to go on as well but will need to paint the brackets to match...tomorrow!

I like it! I get your point about the chrome trim, but the advantage is the speakers you’ll be able to install.

Yes Steve that is a big advantage and it gives opportunity for a modern sound system if the next owner wants one. I just hope the original radio doesn't blow these speakers.....haha!

I got the headliner all in and speakers installed using painted screws.

The tape on the roof is for trim hole locations that I may need or not, waiting on Dashtop.
I was planning on painting the old visor brackets black but when wire wheeling them I realized that they were made of pot metal aluminum soooo..... we tried polishing them. :D

And this is what they look like with the new visors.

I am happy how the interior turned out, only thing left is to paint and install door panels but that will happen after I get the door trim on. Missing the passenger side trim so either need to find one or make one from an extra new box side one I have. Next up is the engine bay wiring but still waiting on a few things there for parts. Then testing of all this wiring. I ordered my tires and will be going with 265/75R/16 on the 8" wide Eagle Alloy rims that came with the truck. I'm hoping that they give the truck a beefy look so time will tell.

Yes Paul the wheels are nice, not my choice they were part of the package that came with the truck. I'm hoping the tires I ordered will give me the look I am going for.
As far as the attention to detail goes, thank you. I just like to do things to the best of my ability, sometimes that fails me too! If I was planning on keeping the truck I would do somethings more to my liking rather than just using the parts that came with the truck, trying to keep my costs down here.
The funny part is the truck is growing on me as I work on it and I have enjoyed the people involved while building it. Two of these people want first dibs on it when I go to sell it including the guy I bought it from maybe interested. :)

Those wheels are killer. Love 'em. 8)

You should keep this truck. Not many out there like it, and a heck of a lot more useful than that convertible in the other side of the garage...

You're right on the usefulness of the Spitfire but it too was a staled project, that will be sold this spring. I do have a truck that will be staying with me, my Silverado, I need it for my 5th wheel.
There is also the Gt Mustang that needs a new home, just too many stragglers that I have brought home that need to be driven and I don't have the space to keep.
