:yt: :yt: Yeah, don't jump the gun to quickly. Even if you didn't do the upgrades that are being mentioned and where looking for original replacements you'll be ok. If you were closer, I've got a good Dana 24 transfer case and a good closed knuckle Dana 44 from my 71' Highboy that I would let go very reasonably. Just be patient, those items are relatively easy to locate even at a reasonable price.

We have all been in this same situation before. What you need to do now is this;
1) Inventory what you have between the two truck.
2) Figure out what you need to put the 4x4 back together.
3) Use the parts you are not going to use as bartering material or sell for funding your project.

I can tell you this has worked for me, and I do like being able to share parts with the group here.

Check the pinion angle if you use the 2WD rear end, you might have to use some wedge shims. I’ve heard varying stories about whether they are the same of not.

Sorry guys - no photo updates this weekend - it’s raining:(

Question though? What’s the value of an old FE shortblock?

And is there anyway to identity if it’s a 360 or a 390?

On the crank there will be a 2U or 2UA stamp for 390, 2T or 2TA for 360.

Engine doesn't look bad at all. Still curious to see the differentials. If the look like that you better be driving tomorrow :lol:

Yeah, measure the stroke. That will tell you right away what you have.
