Dentside photo reference page posted...

Post by FORDification »

I mentioned this in another thread, but thought I'd better post in here too, in case anyone who was interested in checking it out wasn't following that thread.

I was at a friend's house over the weekend, someone who's really into dentsides. He had a half-dozen of 'em on his place, and I was there to swipe a few parts before he hauled a few of them away for scrap. While I was there, I spent a few minutes taking some pictures just for my own personal reference, and thought I'd post them to share.

BE WARNED: There are 72 pictures posted on this page. They're all thumb-nailed, but I'm sure for those of you on dial-up accounts, the page might take a moment or two to download, so please be patient.

However, 1978 and 1979 are the only years from this era in which a tilt column was available, and mostly on pickups equipped with an automatic transmission and power steering. There is a tilt column for a floor-shift manual transmission truck...but they're extremely rare. If you ever find one in a salvage lot, GRAB IT!
The above quote was taken from here.

I hope you grabbed this column, too!

No, unfortunately I wasn't allowed to get parts from that truck. Heck otherwise I'd have just hauled the whole truck home! There were a lot of very desireable pieces on that one.

Too bad, that would have been a a nice column to have for the chop top.

Keith, that is the next logical step since so many upgrades come from those trucks. Good job as always.

Noticed on the F350 4x4 the engine stands were redrilled for another engine, was it a 460 in there?
Next time your there a pic to take for the D60 front axle is a view from the driver's side top of the open knuckle and steering arm bracket, one of the easiest ways to tell what it is to the untrained eye.
great write up!!
