Here's one that I'm sure most of you know....but someone here might not have the slightest idea, and learn something. ;)

Yep, kaptnkaos got it. This is attached to the backside of the steering wheel hub, and is what contacts the turn signal switch's plastic cancelling arm to turn off the signals. Here's a couple shots of this piece installed:

Isn't that 67-77 cancelling cam? I believe the 78/9 had a cosiderably different piece. At least the one on the wheel I had on my 78 column had a different one.

I just picked up my 'new' 67 over the weekend. So why does mine turn off when returning to center from a left turn, but not from a right turn?

Your turn signal switch has two plastic arms on it, one to cancel the left turn, one to cancel the right....one of them is broke off.

yuppers! M]and yesir my 78 column/wheel has the two knobs on it. but for some reason won't cancel the cam from a 67-77 column :dk: the arms are intact.

Oh well atleast the switch stays in the position you put it in. ain't too much bother to cancel it manualy.

Pop your wheel off and look at the white turn signal counceller in there. It's a plastic thing, and since it is 40 years old you will notice the ends that cancel it are broken off
