302 Timing

Post by Timd »

I have a 1971 Torino 302 in my 1969 Ford f100 and am going to set my timing, can someone tell me the total timing range for this engine? also I am going to set for total time and then the initial time fall where it may, is there any reason i shouldn't do this on this engine?

Thank you

Not at all. That's my preferred method anyway. It's how I timed my 302. Initial fell in at a crazy 22*. Go for 35-38 degrees all in at 2500 rpm but not over 40*. Mine loved it there. However, I was running a Duraspark II ignition.
