Crankshaft pulley bolt

Post by WarEagle »

Does anyone know where to get a crankshaft pulley (damper) bolt for a 300 L6? I have searched the web for an hour with no luck. I tried Dorman, ARP, Jegs, summit, Whitney and many others. Can't seem to find one. :? I am trying to install a new harmonic balancer and the first few threads on the bolt are stripping. Thanks!

The bolt pattern shares the same as the small ford and 351c. Thread is 5/8-18 fine thread. Just don't know the length of the 300 bolt. Measure yours up length wise then hit up summit. Got a 300 here but its newer fuel injected so don't know if the length is the same. Hit up summit search with 5/8-18 threads and then get you length should be good to go.

Thanks Manny,

Found the bolt (ARP and ATI make it) and it is 2.05" and mine is 1 3/4" but I can always add a washer if it bottoms out.

Thanks for the info!!

Junk yard? Or ARP and 15 minutes with a grinder.

Checked it tonight 300 bolt threads right into 302 and 390 crank. Also checked the 300 six crank depth. Measuring right at1.990" Gonna be close but with the washer should be okay. Might do a dry run minus balancer first. But that extra 1/4 will help pulling the balancer on.

That's awesome, thank you! Yes, with that thick washer it should be fine. And the extra length will help out cuz the bolt is barely catching the crankshaft threads now.

Appreciate the help!!
