How much better would that setup be than the electronic kits for those distributors? I have one of those in there now and a set of points in the glove box. One pump of the gas pedal and a turn of the key and it's running but I've not leaned on it either.

I was able to trade the New Holley carb that I got with the truck today for a new in the box Holley truck avenger. It's a 670 and I would have preferred a 470 but I'll just jet it down. Should work out well with the performer 360 intake that I also got in the parts pile for it. Man I love parts hoarders....

Just like my hot ignitions but if you do the hei dizzy or whatever it will help just the hottest spark you can get. That's awesome you were able to get the carb like that. Yeah 470 would be better but I have a 670 on my 308 in the bronco. At the time I bought it the 470 was not available. Had it 10 years now I guess. Been good to me jetted it down, added a little squirter to help with automatic trans. Then had to beat on it one time the rear float sunk (set for 2 months) Other than that I like my holley. Hope yours treats you good!!

What jets and squirted did you use in yours? If the weather holds I may try to get the intake and carb on this weekend. Just wondering where you started on the jets. I've never built one of these truck carbs. I'm a diesel guy.... :D

Holleys are fat outta the box you probably won't lean it out bad on a 360. 66-68 IIRC is stock come down 2 steps in the front 1 step in the back so 64 ish in the front 65-66 back. Squirter if you have a 4 speed should be fine. Bronco has c6 and 3.50 gears with 35's so it's lazy (4.56 soon) I went from 29 to 31 on the squirter but doubt you need to jump up unless your having issues with yours. Also what's your altitude? bout 750ish feet here with those jets.... Works fine from 15-20 degrees to 95-100F....

Well, I may be swapping the carb and intake sooner than I thought. Drive down the mountain today to get to a fuel stop and it was loading up horribly. I stopped in a very precarious spot and it died. I immediately thought I was out of gas and soon popped the hood and saw all the gas leaking around the outside of the carb spacer.....looks like the dreaded main shaft seal is shot. So what's a country gent to do with a flooding carb? That's right boys and girls, I got it cranked, shoved it in first gear and held it to the floor.... :D died again a mile later pulling up to the shop. And THIS my good people is why I need reliable....LMAO

Did the float get stuck? try tapping on the bowl area? typically when the throttle shaft gets worn it creates a vac leak and you lean out.

I haven't looked at it very closely. just an assumption with gas leaking out the side by the shaft. I'll see if the float is stuck and honestly I wouldn't doubt it. I'm not going to put too much effort into diagnosing it as I said, I have a new carb and intake to go on it. I was just messing around today. My driveway is two miles long of switch backs and a fairly constant 15 percent grade down.

Yeah I'd likely just pop the end off and have a look see. The truck has sat since the rebuild. It was moved around on the farm from shop to shop. I'm honestly not that interested.... :D
