2 barrel carb on stock 300 L6

Post by Daddy Longbed »

I have acquired from a friend of mine an Autolite 2100 to put on my stock 300 L6
The carburetor is super clean and has the Climatic choke which the original 1 barrel did not, it was manual.
Sooo... i am not sure of how to attach the heat tube to my exhaust or where this can be accomplished.
and also... what is the coil spring devise located under the neck on the exhaust manifold for?
I am aware of a Dorman heat stove tube kit but if there is a Spot already for this, i would rather utilize it than use a universal part if possible.

Hopefully someone has come across this or knows at least my application
thanks,

The coil spring thing is designed to run a flap inside the exhaust manifold. What it when it works properly it opens up when it is cold so the exhaust heat can warm up the intake manifold under the carburetor to help keep the fuel atomized properly. Then it warms up and shuts so you dont have full intake heat all the time.
1968 F100 Took the running 390 out, and installed a Built 300 with AOD.
