Need Some Help

Post by bm52 »

Well im sure some of you saw this ebay auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... AMEWA%3AIT and it didnt sell but i have been talking to the guy and was gonna send him a email today saying that i would come pick it up sometime this week so i hit send and ebay wouldnt let me send the stupid thing cus im not in an active auction with the seller. So i looked for at least an hour trying to find a way to beat the system haha and still couldnt find out how to contact the guy. So just wondering if any of you guys got his email address while the auction was still live or if any of you know how to get it. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Are you a registered eBay'r ? You ought to be able to "Ask the Seller a Question" if you're signed in...

If that doesn't work try clicking on his feedback number. Once you go there you should be able to ask him a question thru that avenue...

Hope that helps... :)

Yeah ive even tried that, everytime i try to send the message i get this message
Attention!
We have determined you are trying to contact an eBay member with whom you are not currently involved in an open transaction. For the protection of the eBay community, we sometimes block these types of communication.

and yes i am a regestered ebayer and i had been talking to the guy before the auction was over. Ebay sucks  haha

Ebay does not want folks to making deals outside of their site. They lose their cut. Therefore they won't let you contact him. You might try to go back to your emails and see if you can get his email address.

I was able to send him a message:
I'm the Admin of the FORDification.com forums, a site dedicated to the '67-'72 Ford trucks. A member of the forums made a post today that he's been trying unsuccessfully to contact you about the truck you were trying to sell on E-bay. Please contact him at [e-mail address] as I believe he's interested in buying your truck but has no way of contacting you.
I gave him the Yahoo e-mail address you registered here with, so watch that account.

I just clicked on the "E-mail the Seller" link and was able to send it. This has happened one other time too, where I was able to send a message when others weren't. I don't know why I can when others can't, it might be because I actually e-mail sellers quite a bit through E-bay, and possibly E-bay has allowed me privileges because I've shown I'm not a scammer or whatnot...I don't know, just guessing. But I'm glad I was able to help. Let us know how things turn out. :D

Just for the record I was able to ask the seller a question with no problem.

Kinda curious how eBay decides it's security... :?

Hope you have good luck with that rig, bm52 !

I e-mailed a guy about a truck that didn't sell and I didn't have any problems. Must be a bug in ebays system.
