Keith,

that is an awesome find. Coincidentally, I have a soldier who is from Brazil. I'll see if I can find out more info on these F1000/F4000's.

That is amazing that Ford had that capability all that time and it wasn't publicized.

Looks like the Ford Ranger grill from about 1984-1985 on there huh?

Oh no.....this is no hoax, Peter. These are actual trucks and are the actual years. There are all kinds of these trucks listed at http://www.mercadolivre.com.br which is a Brazilian E-bay site. There are also all kinds of car/truck dealers with these trucks listed on their sites. Here's a couple pics of a '90 diesel listed at one dealer's site:

That is the coolest thing I have seen. I have always wondered what a more modern truck would be like. The grill does not do much for me though.

If any of you have figured out the Portugese translations and want to start keeping an eye on mercadolivre.com for possible future purchases, do some reading at the following thread....it's got some good basic info on them, plus using PayPal there:

I'm wondering if that nifty intrument panel would bolt right in. Regarding importation, let me know if anyone is serious and I'll get the specifics.

Only thing is wile the frame may be one piece, the body looks like a bronco with the 67-72 body style. U- body yuck. Except for novas chevelles and the mopar unibodys. 8) Nice shiny chrome. Wonder if the grill would bolt right on and then i could go billet in the middle? Don't know about the extra headlights though. So now i know where all of fords spare parts for our trucks went.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

What a Great Score - I thought I'd seen something like one of these awhile back on a Discovery type show on the mining in Brazil but it was just a glimse so I never thought nothing about it, other countries (espec.3rd world), have lots of crazy stuff thats not imported here.
I'd like to see that quasi Crew Cab thing with the large rear side window filled in.
