70 torino rear end

i snapped the yoke shaft on my rear end. will the the shaft out of a 90 ford truck fit?

Isn't what your calling a yoke shaft the pinion, as in the ring and pinion ?

I don't think so. 9" removable vs. 8.8" integral carrier.

I understand that :wink:

The yoke on the rear bolts on to the pinion, That's the only shaft it goes on. It's the same way if it's a 9" or a 8.8.

The ford 9" stop being made in 1986, And Ford only used Ford rears in 70 Torino's to my knowledge.

I'm going to say No to the original question.

There was another rear end that Ford used during that era. My '70 Mercury full-size has a 9 3/8" rear. I believe they were also used in trucks during the early '70s. I'm not sure about Torino/Montego using them though.

i was told by another person that it was a 9" do to the fact that it comes out the front and not the back. and yes its the pinion shaft.

i got the vin tag off and its a wdw-k 8 inch 2.79 gear ratio. will the wdw-k1 or k2 work ?
