F250 Highboy with different shaped front hubs!

Post by bwlyon »

I just purchased a 1976 F250 Highboy, (to mount my 67 bumpside body on) that has differently shaped front hubs. The left one is smooth outer surface like all the other Dana 44HD front hubs, but the right side has a "scalloped" surface. The lockouts are the OEM spicer units and are the same. What gives with the "Scalloped" right hub? Any ideas?

The "Scalloped" shaped hub is a factory Dana 44HD unit. My truck has these. The ball should have a 14 bolt gasket if it is a HD unit.
