swapping out C4 to a T5 in 67 f100

Post by caya1382 »

Out looking around for a T5 to swap out my C4. In my 1967 f100.
Any ideas of what I will will be needing. Any issues anyone ran into?
I know I need the T5 will my C4 bell housing work or ??
Can I use my same trans mount? I know I need a new pedal assembly.
Any issues with the floor shifter hitting the bench seat?

Google it, there's a ton of info out there on swaps. C4 bell, nope. Clutch assy maybe if you find the correct push style (rod) vs pull style (cable) bell. Flywheel for a 28oz imbalance needed.

I'll try to add more later.

You didn't mention what engine you have? Try this search and read up on it. https://www.google.com/search?q=t5+site ... 8&oe=utf-8 Also, some good information here. Different trans but similar application. http://www.fordification.com/tech/M5R2_5spd-swap.htm

The easiest way is to use a three speed bellhousing ,clutch ,pedals, linkage that came in a three speed truck. Then get on ebay buy an adapter for a classic mustang three speed to t5. You will have to move the cross member back an inch or two. Very easy just drill two holes. And then do something with your drivsaft it may be a little short. It takes a little work but is a easy conversion.

What are you going to do with the C4?

I found a t5 older one world class. And paired it with a s10 tail housing in order to not hit my bench seat. And ran a after market mustang 90's model clutch cable and put my old original clutch pedal back in and welded a 1/2 " piece of flat metal and drilled a hole in it to the side of the pedal and attached the clutch cable to it. Also had to run s10 Trans mount which caused me to have to notch a 1" out of my cross member and I just welded a flat piece of steel back in to put back some strength in the member.
