M5od in 67 highboy

Post by rabbithunter2005 »

So been driving my 67 with the 300 six for the past 4 months and been loving it already got 4 thousand miles on the swap. I drive this thing all over western Pennsylvania picking up parts. Anyhow part 2 of making my highboy a fuel efficient vehicle (14mpg is fuel efficient to me) I snagged a m5od transmission out of a wrecked 94 2wd f150 with 46000 miles for 125 bucks. I know I gotta get a custom drive shaft made and run a hydraulic clutch which is no big deal to me got that planned out already. My question is what do I gotta do to the floor. Its my understanding the m5od is a bit taller than the np435. Just wanna know some input from anyone who has done the swap. After this ill swap the 456 gears outta the rear to match the 410 in the front that I swapped a couple months ago. Anyhow I tend to ramble on and I apologize for that. Any help is sure appreciated.

We have installed the same trans in '69 Hi-Boy. Use the NP435 trans hump and then I used the top of the donor truck hump where the shift boot bolts to it and welded to the original NP435 hump > here is a pic. We have the same engine. fresh rebuild, custom cam, EFI manifolds, Flowmaster muffler, Clifford intake , autolite carb, lightly ported head with larger valves. getting 15.4MPG 4.11 gears 35" tires, its my son's daily driver.
