Parking Brake Cable's

Postby Georgia71 on Thu Jul 23, 2009 11:00 pm

Hello to All,

I replaced my parking brake cables on my truck and can't find the clips. The ones that hold the cable to the frame. The picture I have is kinda fuzzy. Sorry. I tried napa and the guy said he didn't have it. One cable came with it the other didn't. I guess I could go back to where I bought it and tell them one had missing parts! Didn't think about that. I tried one that holds the front brake lines but it seemed too loose. The one that came with the clip was a round wire type clip. Kind of shaped like a horse shoe. It's the cable on the drivers side in the picture.

That's the kind I got at napa. But it fits too loosely.

loose as the hole being to big or not holding it tight to the frame?
Just as a point, there what came with a replacement Wagner cable, and there what is use on my 71 frame that has the OEM cables.
So you may just need to squeeze them a little to get them to stay.
If not holding tight to the frame, put a spring washer on the cable side then assemble.

They are called External Hitch Pin Clips, should be available at a hardware store.

Hey Knight,

That's what came with one of the cables. I will try to get some at the hardware store tomorrow. The other flat ones fitted loose. If I have to I'll just squezze them in like suggested.
