Brake Rod Boot Cover?
Ever since I removed my brakes from the firewall I have noticed theres a opening where the rod passes through the firewall. Theres a rubber boot but it is not currently covering the opening and im not sure if it should or theres something im missing. Now that the hole is there, water dris in the cab and theres a noticeable draft so I should probably fix this . I have included a picture of the hole behind the booster and the rubber boot on the rod. Is this supposed to be in a different position or am I missing a cover?

The original booster would have had a plastic shield that went around the rod in between the booster brackets.

Does anyone make reproductions or are original ones available? Maybe I could situate the one I have to keep it from leaking. I don't remember it having problems before I took it all apart.

I found a couple boots on ebay that were marketed for a Jeep. There were two different sizes for the firewall hole though and I don't remember what they were. One fit perfect and works great.

"Jeep firewall boot" should bring them up;) I got one of them to email me the hole size, but I'm not sure it was accurate, so I still bought two:(

I think you should make a thread just for them and try contacting Keith (Admin). There should be a high demand for them, since I haven't seen anywhere else that anyone has made or found any NOS or repro!

The boot wasn't available from Ford individually...it was part of a booster rebuild kit though. If you wanted to purchase the whole rebuild kit, you could get one, but it would be much cheaper and easier to just rob one off a junkyard truck. They're hard plastic and typically are reuseable.
