Any Opinions on Brake Rotor Brands?

Post by colnago »

I'm getting set to convert from front drums to discs. I have a set of discs from a truck in a junk yard, but one of the rotors is in pretty bad shape, so I figured I'd just get new rotors. I've done some searching on google, but it seems like it's a bit of a crap shoot on the different brands. Any opinions on what to get, or what to stay away from? My top choices right now are Wagner, Duralast (AutoZone), Brake Best (O'Reilly), or NAPA. These are going on an F250 daily driver. Very little towing, very little highway.

Thanks,

Joseph

I bought some new pieces of crap from Napa for the rear of a Ford Taurus and never did get them to run true, they shuddered like hell when you applied the brakes. They were bargain line Gookanese made. Upgrading to standard rotors solved the problem.

I don't know if this is for an F100, F250 or F350(?).

This is what I've had on the front of my '69 F100 for a couple of years now. The only problem I've had from them is they stop the truck way better than when I had drums on the front.
