yellowish fluid leak rear hub

Post by gritlight »

Originally I thought the leak must be break fluid but the reservoir is completely full still.

A good bit of it leaks from the center of the right rear wheel each time its driven. Its pretty sticky stuff.

Does any one have a lock on what this is? what should my next step be? Thank you and excuse my ignorance im still learning!

Is there any water envolved?...rain, puddle, car wash? Is it possible that your rear axl housing has water in it? Water and 90w gear oil, mixed by a churning differential makes a sticky, yellow froth. An over full rear housing contaminated with water, could produce a leak from the axl seal. Other than that, I'd say wheel cylinder?
