Interesting radio bezel

Post by FORDification »

Ran across this stamped steel radio bezel on E-bay. Never seen another one like it. Anyone have any info on this? Maybe part of an early aftermarket radio kit?

Seeing as how the radio opening has rounded corners that match perfectly with that Panasonic unit, I'm guessing it was probably a part of their installation kit. But something like this would really help out people with butchered radio openings in their dash.

A parts truck I once had also had a Motorola radio with a bezel that appeared very factory but had rounded corners in the radio slot. So I have to assume that it too was a part of their installation kit.

Wonder if it might be a U-Haul part? :?
