No, all flaresides were a single color.

i've thought about two-toning my stepside. I don't think I'm brave enough to do it, but if you decide to, make sure you post pictures!

i think i seen this done once. it didnt look right or good the way it was done. they had the two tone way low on the bottom of the bed. now for some other ideas and opinions abotu it. painting just the bed one color and the fenders another color would maybe look better but then it mihgt look like the fenders where off of something else and hadnt been repainted to match the rest of it yet. the one i seen had the two tone line abotu 1/3 the way up the side of the fender. it wasnt the correct splitting point. but looked ok becuase the point was about the correct place since they did the cab the same way. but it didnt look right overall.

what i had always pictured was the entire bed being the bottom color, and the top tone not starting until you get to the bottom of the window, where the pillars start and the back of the cab curves. i'd still like to photoshop it.

There were definitely two tone flaresides. The roof could be a different color.

The early M series trucks from Mercury ('48-'52) had a rather unique two-tone color combo.
I would be curious about using the usual bumpside two tone coloring on the cab and front clip.
Then use the base color for the sides of the box, with the 2nd color used on the fenders.
Idea :hmm:

On my 71 F100 SB flareside, my plans are to paint the truck mallard or boxwood green and the cab roof, painted 68 grille, painted front bumper and the F-O-R-D on the tailgate all seafoam green. Perhaps I would paint the factory wheels that color as well, but probably wimbeldon white. But I am not real creative type of person and kind of stick to stockish paint schemes.

I have a '71 styleside that has factory paint still on it.It is green. I have a painted rear bumper, wimbledom white, and will be doing the same to the front. My wheels are also wimbledom white and I will be painting the roof to match. I love wimbledom accents on old vehicles. But, I also have a '69, 428 4 speed truck as well. I'm starting to do a complete redo on it. I will be adding a flareside bed. I plan on painting the truck black, with wimbledom white roof. This could have come factory, even with a flareside.
