bumper bracket

Post by gaertner_jan »

Hey Guys,
Quick question for someone in the know... My project truck had a mangled aftermarket bumper on it and also some sort of home made hitch. Im tossing all that stuff and want to go back to an original styleside rear bumper. I have the bracket mocked up how I figure it would be installed but can somebody please confirm this is indeed how it goes in before I weld up the other holes? :D I'm pretty sure this is correct since no other hole combination will fit but better ask now that be sorry later...

thanks! J

Thanks Sarge!

Looks like I only have one excess hole to weld shut then. I see your truck also has an unused hole in the frame just like mine...

thanks! J

Why are you welding the unused openings shut, if I might ask?

Well... there's a few reasons.

1. Because I'm a bit of a perfectionist. The holes don't belong there and they bug me.
2. They're oblong and a bit rusted anyhow. Structurally not really a big deal but they're a bit closer to the original mounting hole than I'd like them to be.
3. My new welder rocks
4. I like welding and making it look purrty :D

need any holes welded?
