Unknown hole in floorboard/firewall

My searching has not turned up the origin of this passthrough, other than allowing water under the mat to start the ever so slow oxidation process :wink:

That's the hole for the clutch rod to go through the floor board. If it was a automatic it would have a plate on it.

:yt: I went from a 3 spd on the column to an automatic. I took a piece of aluminum flashing, fabbed a gasket, coated it with RTV and used sheet metal screws to cap it off.
