Dana 44 Camber Adjusment

Post by Eric46 »

I have a disc brake Dana 44 (low pinion, ball joints) from a 76 Highboy in my 70. Is there a kit out there to adjust the camber...as it sits now the camber is positive.

Thanks

I did mine a while back,I could not find adjustment shims for our axle I ended up setting up the axle level on stands then measured the angle of each spindle and making individual aluminum shims for each side. On mine it it required 1* in one side and 1.5* on the other, much more that 1.5* starts to get a bit thick for the factory studs but I see no reason that you couldn't use longer studs if needed. :2cents:

Midyear in 1976 there was a change in the 44 front from the knuckles out so those would fit the axles after the change it seems to me as they list '76 and later, mine was the early axle and used hubs that had the old style spicer locking hubs like these

Steve,

I used these shims. Took a couple of trips back to the alignment shop to fine tune the alignment...all set now.

Steve,

The axle came out of a 76 F-250. The spindles are 5-bolt.

https://www.ingallseng.com/26125-dana-4 ... -shim.html

The web site shows shims for 5, 6, and 8 bolt Dana 44 spindles.
