I would have to agree with getting the truck and using what you got.
Totally off topic tho- eggman do you have a build thread or more on your truck? I started salivating just reading all the mods you've done to yours. That thing is zombie apocalypse ready!!

I have a build thread here but i used photobucket for the pics :( so................
As far as the mods to my truck i have owned it since 1990 and it started out as a 2 door with a 8' flatbed and now the only things original to the truck are the frame, core support and hood the leaf springs are as well but they have been re-arched and bushed. i had wanted a highboy since i was 10 years old and when I got this one it was headed to the scrap yard it had been a ranch truck since '68 and we did the well work for them and they sold it to me for $.02 a pound  I rebuilt it then and again in 2010 adding the Cummins to it, the crewcab was added in 1992 when my kids got too big for them the wife and I to all ride in the single cab it's off a '68 F-600 I found in the oilpatch in Bakersfield,CA.
I will be driving this till I'm either dead or my kids manage to pry the keys out of my hand.................... :D

That sucks about photobucket they screwed a lot of people over. Awesome story about your truck tho. I've seen a few photos of it floating around the interweb and it's very cool. I just got my highboy over a year ago and hope to have it for thirty years as well.
