Wisconsin area M&G... anyone interested?

Post by two-bit »

I saw some of the other posts for Florida, and other places. So i thought maybe we could do one for Wisconsin and the surrounding states.
I'd really like to go to K.C. for the Midwest one, but i can't afford to travel real far in this coming year.
So, anybody interested?
Maybe we can try to pick a fairly central point for all the members interested. Try to keep the travel down to a minimum.

I'd be interested - just depends on an actual date and if it happens to conflict with anything else.......

OK maybe if we can pick a month to do this in we might get some more people interested.
April and May will not work for me. Thats kidding season round' these parts. I'll be up to my knees in new born goats for at least six/eight weeks.
Maybe in March?
Not good for the trucks, but we could bring day-drivers to eat the salt.
How about it?

Depends on the weather I guess.

Where exactly are we gonna meet at anyway?

My preference would be to wait until the weather (and DOTs) make conditons better for actually driving the bumpsides. However, now that I type this it probably won't make any difference to me since I doubt I'll have any bumps roadworthy anyways. But at least then maybe if I'm able to go I could see some of your trucks......

...just a thought!

Ok, took a look at a map. Tried to find a centralized point where we could all meet that would be easy to find.
I'm thinking about the Cabelas store in Prarie du Chein WI.
Its right on the river. Easy access to Iowa, Wis, and Minn.

Sorry Spartman, i tried to fit you into the triangle. Not sure where in S.D. you are.
For most of us i think this will be in 150 mile range.

I was thinking after we meet there, we could find some little local greasy spoon and really boost there profit margin for the day.

Snake: i like the idea about bringing our bumps, maybe if we did it in middle/ late May the roads would be clear enough. Would be great to get a pic of all the trucks together. I suppose we could take a pic of us all together too.

Most times i just go to the P.O., there photo quality has really improved over the years

Let me know what you all think about location and time of the year.
Open to suggestions also. Anybody got any?

No problem.

I am in the north east corner of south dakota.

If I can come I will be without the truck though.

It is nowhere near ready for the road yet.

Here is what mapquest says for me.

Total Est. Time: 7 hours, 43 minutes Total Est. Distance: 479.42 miles

That is a big drive.

KC is about the same distance for me.

Looks like the post went quiet in February. Is anyone still considering getting together? I could do the Cabella's thing.
