Free Parts Washer!

Post by mjhaltom »

My uncle came across a guy that was once trying to sell these units but the storage cost outweighed their value, so he got it for free and passed the savings on to me!

Evidently this is a unit designed to be used on brakes while a car is on a lift, but I can't see any reason I can't use it for everything. It is pneumatic as well! I am stoked!

Have you guys ever seen/used one of these?

The racing shop I used to work in at school had a great home made parts washer, just a cart with two stainless steel [censored] sinks, one above the other. The upper one was where you put your parts, and it drained into the lower one which was full of cleaner (an open reservior) and had a submerged pump that sent the fluid back to the top. I'm sure if the University had ever found out they would have flipped sh!t for having an open reservior of nasty solvents sitting around all the time.

Hey Mj...

Great score on the parts washer...
That's what I need...
Maybe one a lot bigger so I could just drive my bump into it and get it done all at once... :D

Hey Max...

Thanks for the idea... I like it.
I might even make one myself...
Heck, I might even toss a piece of sheet metal over the bottom sink...
