Greater Seattle Meet & Greet

Post by 68FORDJBM »

Shout out to members in the greater Seattle area: anyone interested in meeting up?

Any tips on how to organize these meet & greets? Is there a way to sort members by location?

I'm in Oly, would love to hit a group meet, but my work schedule and when old trucks get together usually don't mesh well sadly.

One way to do this is to simply start a free Facebook page. Call it "Ford Fans of Seattle" or whatever (but have Ford be first word). Find about 3 guys to be "admin" on the site. Then post it on Craigslist and email car clubs to help get the word out. Then you post info on car shows and especially meet & greets. "Tom with a '75 Truck will be at the A&W in Burien on Thursday night at 6pm. Show up if you can. Be welcoming to newbies."
Keep the posts on topic or else people get frustrated.
If someone posts an event on your wall, an admin will need to re-post to make sure all will see it.
Running a FB page is very easy. It's getting the word out to get people to "like" it that takes some effort. Just make sure you have posted lots of pics of Fords before you promote the page. That way when people check it out and see the cool pics, they will "like" it for sure.
So will your target be classic trucks or classic Fords or classic Ford trucks? I like the former. The more the merrier! So maybe you want to be "Classic Trucks of Puget Sound" to get a wider audience. Let me know if you start it.
