Tyler, Has anyone tried your bracket on a highboy ?

I like the bracket and would like to get one from you but not sure if it would work on a highboy because the cross member is located more forward than 2wd.

Do you have a center to center measurement from the crank to the compressor so I could check to see if it would work on a highboy ? Looking at your pictures it looks close but would like to measure before buying one. Thanks for your help.

Hazelnut - I'll measure center to center for you and post it here. Thanks!!

Hazelnut - the center to center measurement from the crank pulley to the compressor pulley is 8.75".

My power steering pump is currently using the 3rd groove of the crank pulley. Are there spacers on my factory power steering bracket that can be removed to allow the pump to use the 2nd groove of the crank pulley?

Thank you Tyler, I look forward to hearing from you when there ready to ship. I want the unwelded kit.

I do have one more question though. What's the part number on the compressor your using ? Would make it a lot easier for me to use the same one as you did.

Look forward to your PM :D

Tyler,

I believe I want one. My 390 only has 3 pulley slots on the crank. First is Alt, Second is PS Pump, Third is AC.
I'm assuming my 3rd spot is equal to your 3 spot and your bracket setup would be perfect. Just not for sure since yours appear to have 4 pulley slots.

I would want the DIY version.

Hazelnut - I'm using a Sanden 508 compressor.

Trent - I believe your assumption is correct. I have no reason to believe the spacing of a 3 slot pulley would be any different at all. True, mine's a 4-slot, but I'm nut using the 4th (Forward) slot. I've got more of these being water-jetted and on the way, PM me with a definite "I want one!" to reserve your place on the list. Thanks!

Tyler, can you please post a picture of your power steering pump bracket? From what I've gathered there are a few different styles. Some run on the 2nd pulley groove and some use the third. Mine uses the third and I've got to find one that uses the 2nd groove like yours so I can use the A/C bracket.

No problem, Anthony. Here's my PS pump mount. It's the two piece, with the main part being cast. Help that helps!

I figured out something thanks to some FE guys. My truck has the same power steering bracket Tyler shows above but my pump uses the 3rd groove on the pulley. Ford made different pulleys in order to use the 2nd or 3rd groove. The pulley Tyler uses has the groove has a nice mound in the middle which pushes the groove closer to the pump. I have a pulley that has a dip around the center which pulls the groove forward. I'm sure that's a crazy description but the best way I can describe it. Maybe that will help someone else. A Mustang guy told me he installed a pulley from a factory A/C car in order to get the 2nd groove pulley.

Hello Tyler,

I hope you are still working with the A/C brackets, but since I have a 300 IL 6, in my /72 Highboy, I am looking for you style of bracket for the Sanden 507 or 508 compressor. My "Mistress" (as my wife calls my old truck), lives in Baja, Mx. plenty of R-12 is available there.

Let me know if you can make it, amigo
