I didn't think that they were so much I really am bumin now,because I was taught how to braze---even with the migs of today--I still think that this is a better way for some areas
I've had enough and I'm not alone

I take it this is brand new price?
Look on craigslist. I can't imagine spending more than $200 on a nice torch and private tanks. Fillup should run you about $25 for both tanks if you have big ones. I think my 280 oxy tanks are about $6 and 75 acetylenes are $14.
