Re: 4X4X4 LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

Post by rattlecan »

I dont know what happened but I cant load any pics onto the site???? I have a connection problem with photobucket. Anyway, I have made progress in these no money times! Got the new springs set up on the frame to check ride height and clearance before I start welding the mods on. Got a FREE 70 xlt parts truck that I stripped, cant beat that! maybe someone can post pics for me????
Thanks
Rob

I thought that was my old cab  (glad it didnt have to go to scrap heaven) I now have another crew 72 F350 4x2 (front disc brakes, power steering, factory air), I keep getting the 4x4 itch but trying to suppress it with this 72 truck. Will just be putting the autofab 5" lift on it and keep 2wd (no major project planned)

Side note: didnt think I would be getting another or would have kept stuff off the 67...

WOW! great to hear from you Todd! Yup that is your old cab. It is just itching to get put on that frame :yip: I wish now that i got some of the other things you had. That 72 looks great! Looks solid too. I think once you get the lift on it that would scratch the 4x4 itch for a little while. I have a ton more pics and will load them when I figure out how to connect with photobucket again.
Talk to ya soon!

WOO HOO! :woohoo: I finally got the problem fixed with photobucket and here are the past few months of work. I got the suspension and axles fitted in the frame and then put the box and cab on for fittment. there is a ton of work here! because the frame is a 74 there are modifications that had to be done to mount the box properly and of course I had to relocate the rear cab mounts. Once I am satisfied with the alignment of everything it all comes apart for painting and detailing. Enjoy!

Here is the FREE parts truck my friend gave to me

Anyone know of a good place to get a decent front winch bumper? All the ones I have seen so far are either ridiculously priced or are stupid looking or are way beyond my price range. :pout:

That truck is one of the sweetest crews I've ever seen  What kind of motor are you putting in it? That would be an instring truck to try and parallel park

Nobody makes bumpers for 70's trucks these days. Old Warn ones are around, but they're pretty cheez. I have 1/4" or 3/8" plate lazer cut and broke to what I want and weld it up with 1/2" frame brackets.
