AFAIK here in GA its legal. Had a buddy with a shop with PVC for his compressed air in a commercial application and no one said anything about it.Hawkrod wrote:People have died using PVC pipe, that is why it is illegal. When PVC gives, it explodes into shards and they are sharp like glass. I don't know about you guys but I would rather not risk it to save a few bucks. Guys who use PVC are usually the same guys that say "Here, hold my beer and watch this!". LOL Hawkrod

Ran pvc in my barn in So. Florida for 12 years no problem.
Yes, it was schedule 80 pvc, not schedule 40.
This does make a difference as the wall thickness is twice as much as 40.
I'd never run it where it would be exposed to the UV rays from sunlight though.

You are wrong. Maybe nobody said anything but it is illegal in all states as it is a Federal law. HawkrodOldRedFord wrote:AFAIK here in GA its legal. cpvc is for indoor aplications pvc will break down indoors and also can not handle hot water so thats why they cpvc to supply faucets I plumbed my whole house with cpvc and had to join it to the pvc underground before it entered the house one advantage to black pipe no one has mentioned is if you put a low spot in it with a valve it will collect the condensation and act like a water trap pvc can't do that as well

Even though this (see below) is most likely legal...it begs the question, is it smart?Hawkrod wrote:You are wrong. Maybe nobody said anything but it is illegal in all states as it is a Federal law.
