Okay, the wheels are turning on how I can make this happen...gotta get a lot of things in line before it can happen though. Getting off work will be the easy part, it's finding someone to watch the kids so Ms. and I can make the trip.

Anyone done any camping in the area? I am a state park/national park type person...don't need all the hook-ups and fancy resort type amenities, but a shower house and real toilet facilities would be nice. Recommendations?

Don't know about the immediate area around Pigeon Forge but just outside of Gatlinburg, about 15 mins from Pigeon Forge, is the Cherokee National Forest. I know they've got campsites up and down road through it. Runs all the way from Gatlinburg to Cherokee, NC. Most beautiful scenic drive I've ever been on.

Randy,
Got me rolling out of the chair man. Cause you know that's about how it would go down LOL! :D
Josh, that sounds good man.
Bummer72, I was just there a few months ago, Townsend has three nice campgrounds that are maybe 30-45 minutes from Pigeon Forge? There is a very nice KOA there as well as Lazydays where I stayed that have showers. And like Randy said also...the Cherokee National Park is maybe an hours drive. I had the pleasure of sitting in a three hour traffic jam when I was there...due to a black bear sow and her cub roadside in a tree munching on berries.

A quick google on "camping in Pigeon Forge, TN" brought up several campgrounds/RV parks in PF. And the one sponsored by PF shows several that you can make reservations http://www.mypigeonforge.com/list-of-campgrounds.aspx

While doing some searching...those cabins look nice. Right near the strip, and with trolley service right into downtown.

BTW, could someone please advise me what the actual dates of this event is?????

The schedule on the website, and the .pdf file flyer, do not coincide with the actual dates on the calendar in May 2012.

Does this run Friday thru Sunday?
And most of all....which day is the swap meet?

That's cool JWW. You've been there a few times haven't you? Any suggestions or advice for us "rookies" attending the F-100 Supernationals, (other than good walking shoes) LOL!

Yes Sir the 19th was what we agreed on, and it is on a Saturday. That would leave Sunday for folks to travel home if need be.

Anybody object to publicly declaring your intentions? Let's start a roll call...

Randy, Since you originally started this thread I believe only you could add a poll by editing the very first post. Or it might take a moderators help to add a poll? That's always been a cool way for guys to post intentions of "going" or "not going".
Love the numbers I see so far though! :woohoo:
