Changing steering columns

Post by Kurt Combs »

I just bought a 1972 F250 that someone had put a later wiring harness or turn signal switch in. Seems they had removed the column to do part of the rewiring. Brake and turn signal don't work so I bought a whole steering column on Ebay. The truck has power steering. When I remove the old column how do I align the replacement one so the steering wheel is aligned correctly with the front wheels. The current steering wheel is misaligned by about 90 degrees! Any help would be appreciated. Kurt

Put it all together. When finished get the front tires striaght and pull the steering wheel off and put it back on as striaght as you can. If the drag link is adjustabke then you can striaghten it the rest of the way.
