Spankin' new from the great Northwest!

Post by Sierra71 »

Hi all From Vancouver WA!

Holy cow!
this site is the best. no politics or attitude, just a bunch of guys who do it for the sake of old trucks. That rocks!

Well, I'm thinking of buying a really nice 1969 F250 CS w/ matching 12 foot camper (69 as well) The truck is all original, about 92K on her. 360,AT/PS/PB Custom Cab. I think it may be a late 69 due to the "Explorer" badge on the glove box. Very untouched, even has the stock (broken) AM radio.
No major rust that I can spot, just some surface rust under of the hood.

What do you guys think a setup like this is worth?

the truck and camper are in really good shape and have been together since '69, seems to be a 1 owner, rarely used job. (I thought the lights on the fenders were PO added, guess not! Thanks for the Tech articles Keith!)

Just for kicks, the original window sticker in the glove box said the truck was $4150!

I don't play the brand game, but I haven't had an older Ford like this. What's the scoop on them?

Thanks guys!

PS: I'm a boat engineer by trade, and have *Very* extensive electrical experience. Let me know if I can help!

:hi: and :wel: to the site. Sounds like you got your eye on a prize ride. You really can't go wrong with a rig in that kinda shape if you don't mind the MPG. How about a pic or two?

And the Washington contingent continues to grow. 8)

Depends on the total condition, but check it out under the hood carefully. The inner fender under the battery likes to rust badly, and that inner fender is a rare animal to find OEM. Aftermarket ones are available. Also check the cab mounts, the rear cab corners, and the floor metal for rust. These are also available aftermarket, but replacement cost should factor in to how much you want to pay for the truck.

If the camper is still on the truck, I'ld ask/help to remove it to look it over underneath, and the bed of the truck as well. Just my :2cents: but I want to know what I'm buying.

But most importantly, :nopix:

Yey another webfoot !!!!

Welcome to the forum Seirra71...

There are many of us from the great state of Washington here... and perhaps even a convert or two.
Sounds like you might have found yerself a nice bump...
you'll have to keep us informed and post lots of pics of yer truck...
I live in the town of Elma in SW WA myself.
If you made an equilateral triangle with two points being on Centralia and Olympia, the third point would be where Elma is...
That is kinda handy 'cause it is the same distance to either town from here.

Good luck on getting yer bump,
