JCWhitney Seatbelts

Post by 69timemachine »

I bought the $129 3-point seatbelts a couple years ago for my El Camino and could have sworn they came as a pair. I ordered them now for my bump and only had one in the box. When I called to ask why only one was shipped, the sales lady informed me that they sell them single now. Never mind that the catalog says "seatbelts" in the item description AND the description paragraph for each type of seatbelt. None of them say "sold single" or "sold in pairs" either. I pointed this out to her, but it didn't make a difference. I told her she may want to pass it along to the catalog department that they may want to change that so it doesn't cause many more problems for many more people. The sales lady when I ordered them never said that it was for only one either.

Moral of the story is, don't assume that just because they describe something in plural that they really mean more than one. Ask the sales rep on everything, and I mean everything. I guess it's my own fault for having some knowledge of the English language. "Seatbelt" means one, "Seatbelts" means two or more where I come from. Just know that the $129 pair of seatbelts you think you're ordering is really going to cost you $258.

As far as the seatbelts, they are good quality and come with all the hardware you should need to install them in nearly anything. I was pleased with them in the El Camino and that's why I ordered them again.
