Dual horns

Post by FORDification »

Here's a dumb question: did the trucks equipped with a dual horn setup have two of the same or did they have a hi-lo setup? Are they marked?

Yeah they are both marked. The passenger side has the low horn and the driver's side the high one. The marking is on the outside lip of the horn bell and there's another one 180* from it. The low horn has an extra turn of 'tuning' for the lower pitch.

Yep, you're right Barry (as if there was any doubt). ;) I started digging around the parts boxes of stuff from the F250 Camper Special, one which I knew came with a dual horn setup. They were indeed marked...and the spiral pattern goes in an opposite direction too, for quick ID.

You're not that far off, it's called active noise cancellation.

Now if you could just work out the phasing.....
