4" skyjacker,superlift (lift)??

Post by zakt »

couple questions on the 4" lift, how good does that clear 35x12.5 tires with 10" wide wheels? Also, when you put the lift on do you still use those plates under the front springs??

I put this lift on my 67 high boy, and while I don't have 35's on it yet, 33 12.50 16.5 atm, I don't see any problems w/ 35 fitting. In fact I am thinking 37 18's for mine. This the truck w/ 4" skyjacker and 33" tires

use the original u bolt hard ware front and rear, the sky Jacker kit is for later model trucks. I bought new u bolts and and metal lock nuts separately, from a local spring shop.

That truck will look awsome with 35"s on it. I can only imagine what it will look like with 38's

I like the look also, so I might go 5" with 35" tires... I have to get custom rear springs (which midas well get fronts also), will have a pickup bed camper in it thats like 3500lbs. Did you use those metal blocks on the front spings under the stock springs?

metal blocks ? You mean wedges ? No blocks or wedges on the atm just the sky jacker springs new nets and u bolts, with the factory hardware.

There is nothing between the spring pack and front axle.

Don't recall what brand my front springs are, but think they're skyjacker. Bought them about 10 years ago. When they were on my '70 with a 390 and 35X12.50X16.5 BFG muds on 12" wheels they had a good 2 more inches of wheelwell than Wes's picture. Now that they're under my '71 with more weight on them and 180K or so miles on them they sit about the same as Wes's picture.

I'm happy with them. They ride well and clear 35" tires perfectly. The wheelwell really isn't big enough to clear bigger than 35" tires unless you go taller or trim a little. You can easily trim a bit and 38" will fit fine. I've seen guys run 44" Boggers on 4" highboy springs with cut fenders.

I will have a 460 in it wonder if that will make a big difference on height with that extra weight?

when you say 4" highboy springs, you mean 4" over the highboy stance, or that the highboy sits 4" over a normal F26?

Did some checking today on springs offered in the rear and they are same height so interchangable, just has the 4" block difference so will just put the 4" block under my 72' F350 springs to get stock high boy height. I also decided to go with a custom 6" lift and order springs from national spring (will weigh the front and rear of the truck and they can make springs for the application)

68 F250:
10 leaf pack plus 5 leaf pack (I have from the 68)

72 F350:
10 leaf pack (in my 72)

Yes mine is normal High boy + 4" I had to lift it to clear the cross over steering the drag link was hitting the stock right spring.

4" lift and 35's on 10's look kinda small on mine. But that's my opinion. If I were buying wheels and tires I'd go with a skinny 38 on a 7 or 8" wheel

Ive decided I believe to go with 8" lift over high boy height with 37" tires (toyo 37x13.5) would like to go 38 toyo (38x15.5) but would need to be to high for my liking over the lift laws and probably get pulled over alot... the 8" will put me 1" over but should be ok
